The Next Big Thing

Last week, Twitter friend & fellow writer, Anneli Purchase tagged me along with a few other writers in her Blog post "The Next Big Thing". This week is my turn to talk about my own work in progress, & tag other writer friends to speak about their current works. Thank you Anneli!

What is the working title of your book?
"Quiet Contemplation" A story of future LURRPS.

Where did the idea for the book come from?
I started to dream the book, & wake up & take notes after reading Gary A. Linderer's "Six Silent Men"

What genre does your book fall under?
Scifi/Vietnam War

What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?
To honor the heroes that risked everything for their fellow brothers in arms, in the far off land of Vietnam.

Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?
It will be self published with the help of my editor & mentor.

How long did it take to write the first draft of the manuscript?
It took about a month, entirely made up of dream notes!

What other books or stories would you compare this story to within your genre?
John Davis "Gunship" series & George Lucas "StarWars"

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Gary A. Linderer's books, John Davis's books, & our Vietnam veterans at the V.A. Were my inspiration.

What else about your book might pique the readers interest?
My story represents the true heroism of our Vietnam veterans, paying homage to what they did in a very real war.

What actors would you choose to play the characters in a movie rendition of your book?
My movie dream team would be:

  1. I'm amazed that you can organize your book according to your dreams. I wouldn't be able to do that. But often our dreams are way more fantastic than real life. I hope your book is a great success, Gene.
